- Transactions from Apple Card, Apple Cash, and Apple Savings
We do not access your card numbers, CVV codes, PINs, or any banking credentials. All data is retrieved through Apple's secure FinanceKit framework.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your transaction data is used exclusively within the app to:
- Display your transactions and organize them by category
- Calculate spending against your budget categories
- Automatically categorize transactions based on merchant codes
- Show spending overviews, progress bars, and projections
- Analyze top merchants and detect potential subscriptions
- Generate QR codes for sharing budget templates (categories only, no transaction data)
Your data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising purposes.
4. Data Storage
On-Device Only: All your data is stored locally on your iPhone. There is no cloud sync, no backup to external servers, and no account creation required.
This means:
- Your financial data never leaves your device
- We cannot access your data remotely
- Data does not sync between devices
- If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed
- The app tracks current month transactions only
5. Third-Party Services
Budget Beacon relies solely on Apple's FinanceKit to access your Apple Wallet transaction data. We do not integrate with any other third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.
6. Your Choices & Control
- Revoke Access: You can revoke Budget Beacon's access to your Apple Wallet at any time through your iPhone's Settings app.
- Delete Data: Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all locally stored data.
- Category Management: You control all budget categories and can edit, delete, or reset them at any time.
- Merchant Mappings: You can override automatic categorization by manually assigning merchants to categories.
7. No Notifications
Budget Beacon does not send push notifications. The app operates entirely on-demand when you open it.
8. Children's Privacy
Budget Beacon is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect or process data from minors.
